Building a Small Part |
|
|
|
Small parts are kind of tricky because they cost almost as much a medium ones. What is a small part? How about something smaller than a breadbox. The following lists should get through a project about that size.
Regardless of the type of small part you are trying to build, you will also need to make sure you have:
|
| |
Mold Releases |
| |
The most successful system is our Parting Wax and PVA System.
|
|
|
| |
Mold Prep |
| |
The shininess and smoothness of your part a direct result of the quality of your mold surface. If it needs some touching up, you will need our Mold Polishes.

Pigments:
If you want to make a colored part, you will need to add pigment. Click here
for the selection of available colors.
Respirator:
Regardless of the “smallness” of your project, we recommend working in a well ventilated area and wearing an organic vapor respirator when working with resins. Gloves are included in all of the Mixing Sets and Starter Kits shown below. Click here
to view our Organic Vapor Respirator.
Now you need to decide what kind of part you are interested in making:
Polyester/Fiberglass
Epoxy Fiberglass
Epoxy Kevlar
Epoxy Carbon Fiber
Vinyl Ester/Fiberglass |
